Richard Carbajal has been a music performer for nearly three decades. He has studied
not only the music of American influence but many ethnic musical styles as well. His
guitar work has been recorded in the majority of studios in the Phoenix area.
During the eighties and early nineties he was the guitarist of the east Indian fusion
band, Avatar. He was also a member of the infamous Southwestern New Age group,
Jackalope featuring R. Carlos Nakai. He lead his own popular variety group, Concorde
and frequented many of the valley's music venues. He has also been involved with
local favorites such as Big Pete Pearson and the Blues Sevilles, the Brazillian group,
Zum Zum Zum and the reggae influenced Azz Izz band as well as Native American
reggae group, Roots Rebels. His dynamic guitar style led to his enlistment in another
Native American group, Joy Harjo and Poetic Justice.
